This form explains the eligibility requirements and collects your responses to questions and proof of eligibility. We must keep your submitted form and your proof of eligibility for a minimum of 6 years after you complete your course. We will handle your personal information securely according to our Privacy Policy available on our website. Please complete this form and when you are ready, submit it here online. You can also save this form and complete it later if needed. 

A copy of this form will be sent to your email address - please check your junk folder! We will assess your application and advise you if any more information is required. We will confirm the outcome of your application prior to you commencing the course

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for CSQ funding  you must be classed as an   Eligible Worker  employed in the Building and Construction Industry in Queensland.   This includes self- employed workers. The   "Scope of Work" you are undertaking must be relevant to residential works, commercial developments and civil construction projects such as: 

  • residential and commercial building construction; civil infrastructure

  • renovations and extensions of residential and commercial buildings 

  • installation services for interiors of residential and commercial buildings and the associated trades: electrical, plumbing, flooring etc 

  • land development and site preparation for the purpose of construction 

  • work for a designated Major Project including applications of heavy and civil engineering used in the construction of infrastructure 

and this has to form the majority of their work to be considered substantially engaged within the industry to meet the eligibility determination in the act

Queensland-Licensed Electricians substantially engaged in QLD in Residential/Commercial Building and Construction Industry meet the above requirements.  If you hold an electrical license from another state, you MAY be eligible and you must show evidence of working in the QLD  Residential/Commercial Building and Construction Industry

You  are also eligible for CSQ funding if you are an :

  • Unemployed Eligible Worker   unemployed for a period of not greater than 4 years who would otherwise meet the requirements of an Eligible Worker

  • Active apprentice  registered in QLD, undertaking a Cert III electrical apprenticeship ** You MUST have already completed the prerequisite units for your course with us 

YOU MUST NOT BE

  1. an Employee of an  Authority (Employees of a Local Councils are acceptable where they are an eligible worker)

  2. currently enrolled and participating in a Queensland secondary school program

  3. a contracted trainer or assessor or existing worker of an RTO

  4. funded by an Authority or such other source for the delivery of the same Training being undertaken as part of this Program

  5. a participant who is seeking a Verification of Competency (or Determination of Competency)

A student cannot receive CSQ funding for more than 8 "short courses" i.e individual units of study in total between 01.10.22 and 30.09.24.

AT THE TIME YOU COMPLETE YOUR COURSE , IF CSQ ADVISES US YOU HAVE ALREADY COMPLETED YOUR 8 ALLOTTED CSQ FUNDED SHORT COURSES, YOU WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR A CSQ REBATE FROM US AND YOU WILL BE LIABLE FOR PAYMENT OF ANY REMAINING COURSE FEES BEFORE WE ISSUE YOUR CERTIFICATE.

IF WE OFFER YOU A PAYMENT PLAN OR PART PAYMENT OF THE COURSE FEE PRIOR TO COMMENCING, YOU REMAIN LIABLE FOR THE FULL COURSE FEE REGARDLESS OF WHETHER YOU ARE ELIGIBLE FOR CSQ FUNDING AND/OR YOU COMPLETE YOUR COURSE.

CSQ funding is NOT AVAILABLE to students who wish to apply for Recognition of Prior Learning when enrolling in a course and is only available to   ELECTRICIANS AND ELIGIBLE ELECTRICAL APPRENTICES

Consent to be contacted by CSQ

It is a condition of your application for CSQ funding that you agree to provide consent for Construction Skills Queensland to contact you, including but not limited to the purposes below 

- a review

- conducting Destination Surveys (a survey that collects information, inlcuding employment outcomes, about the destination of Participants after completion of the Program)

- contacting you by any means (including but not limited to electronic, telephone, sms or other written form) for the purposes of advising you of CSQ products and services now and in the future

Signing the Declaration below means you are giving consent.


Declaration

I understand that I must provide the above listed requirements for proof of eligibility and consent in order for my CSQ Funding application to be considered. If my application is successful, I (or my employer if they pay my course fee) will receive the CSQ fee subsidy only after I complete my course successfully wihtin the timeframes specified and I am issued my certificate.  The proof I have provided is true and correct and I have not made any false assertions concerning my eligibility.
